We focus on symptom control to get you functioning better, faster.

Our services include treating teens and adults, including pregnant individuals struggling with these conditions.

Depression

Depression is a mood disorder that causes persistent feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and a lack of interest in daily activities. It can affect one's ability to think, sleep, eat, and work. While the exact cause is unclear, depression may result from a combination of genetic, biological, environmental, and psychological factors.

Bipolar Disorder

Bipolar disorder is a mental health condition marked by extreme mood swings, ranging from emotional highs (mania or hypomania) to lows (depression). During manic episodes, individuals may feel euphoric or unusually irritable, while depressive episodes can lead to feelings of deep sadness and hopelessness. These shifts can impair daily functioning and relationships.

Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD)

GAD is characterized by chronic, excessive worry about various aspects of life, such as health, work, or social situations. The anxiety is often disproportionate to the situation and can lead to physical symptoms like fatigue, restlessness, and muscle tension, affecting one’s quality of life.

Panic Disorder

Panic disorder involves sudden, recurring panic attacks— intense periods of fear or discomfort that occur without warning. Symptoms include heart palpitations, sweating, trembling, and shortness of breath. These episodes can be debilitating and lead to avoidance of certain places or situations due to fear of another attack.

Post-Tramautic Stress Disorder

PTSD develops after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event, such as violence, accidents, or natural disasters. People with PTSD may experience flashbacks, nightmares, and severe anxiety, along with uncontrollable thoughts about the event. These symptoms can interfere with daily life and relationships.

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

OCD is a mental health condition in which a person experiences unwanted, recurring thoughts (obsessions) and engages in repetitive behaviors (compulsions) to alleviate anxiety. These compulsions can become time-consuming and interfere with normal daily functioning, even though the person may recognize that the thoughts and actions are irrational.

We’re not for everyone.

Recognizing that we can’t be all things to all people, Mindful Journey Therapies does not treat:

  • Individuals with active or recent substance use disorders requiring suboxone, methadone, or similar therapies. Considerations will be made if the individual is active with local substance use provider support. We can help support your mental health needs; this is determined case by case.

  • Individuals younger than age 18 years old are on a case-by-case basis. Considerations will be made for those active in therapy.

Not Sure Where You Fit In?

Don’t worry! We can discuss that on your first visit and decide what is best for you and your wellness goals.
